Sauldam Thanksgiving Program
6:30PM - Service - then refreshments and fellowship in Martin Hall following the program.
Our annual Thanksgiving Eve Service began approximately 45 years ago. Sadly, we don't have the exact year. The young women of the church at that time were known as the ABC's (Active Baptist Christians). One of our members, Wanda Fox, had the idea to have a Thanksgiving Eve program. The ABC's sponsored the program and since that time, it has always been sponsored by the women of our church . We come back to our beginnings in this old church every year.
We gather together to praise God and to give Him thanks for all the blessings we received during the year. We praise and thank God by singing, playing musical instruments, reading poems, telling stories, and performing skits. In the early years, our decorations included simple things like jars of home canned goods, baskets of food, and fall colored leaves that we collected from the trees on this property and the cemetery. Thank you for joining us for this special time to thank God for all His wonderfull works
